You’re invited to get swept away by a truly incredible new addition to the TBSO, principal flute, Liesel Deppe performing Vivaldi’s Piccolo Concerto in C Major. We are pleased to be able to introduce you to her with this delightful performance. Thunder Bay Symphony Chorus takes the stage for Bach’s unforgettable cantata “Nach Dir, Herr, verlanget mich”, which translates roughly to “For you, Lord, is my desire.” On top of that, we get to hear a Baroque-inspired contemporary jewel, “Baroque Melting” by Vivian Fung. And it doesn’t stop there! Featuring pieces by Purcell, Gluck, and Rebel, this concert promises to be a wild emotional ride – and a good time!

Since its premiere in 1742, Handel’s Messiah has brought audiences to their feet with its triumphant choruses and dazzling arias. With the Hallelujah Chorus as its centerpiece, Handel’s oratorio is one of the most famous pieces of classical music in the world. Witness this glorious oratorio—performed by the combined forces of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and an exceptional cast of guest soloists led by local favourite, Monica Whicher—as part of a stirring holiday celebration.

Haydn’s The Creation

Featuring Elmer Iseler Singers and TBS Chorus | Lydia Adams conducting Glorious sounds await you as two great choirs merge to present Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece, The Creation. Considered one of his most brilliant works, the oratorio depicts the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis. Combining beautiful vocal writing with his mature classical symphony style, Haydn created the most magnificent oratorio of his time. Lydia Adams and the Elmer Iseler Singers celebrate their 40th Anniversary with a tour of Ontario, and by joining with the Thunder Bay Symphony Chorus in this spectacular concert.
