''We are made for music' and Lakehead Choral Group is springing up a new concert for you! Please, join us on Wednesday, May the 8th at 7 p.m. at St. Agnes Church for a rousing repertoire entitled 'New Beginnings', a celebration of where we have come from and where we are going! A family-friendly concert sure to take you on 'The Climb' from winter blue to golden sunshine. SAVE THE DATE and SPREAD THE WORD!

Music Director Susan Korstanje is celebrating her 25th year with Lakehead Choral Group, and the choir is celebrating along with her! This entertaining Conductor's Playlist is a retrospective of Susan's musical career, with emphasis on her years with LCG. Come join us for Lakehead Choral Group's annual and much anticipated "Spirit of Christmas" Concert!

The concert will begin with a very special piece: Hodie Christus natus est (Palestrina) - a double motet for two choirs, high and low, in which liturgical text is interspersed with traditional Christmas cries of ‘noe, noe’. Contemporary and traditional seasonal pieces will follow to round out the concert, with many additional treats in store, including audience sing-alongs!

In keeping with Canada's 150th birthday, the theme of this year's Christmas concert is "A Canadian Christmas." All pieces to be performed by the chorus are on Canadian themes, and/or by Canadian composers.

JUBILEE: The Joy of Song

Lakehead Choral Group celebrates 60 years (!!) of making music in the Lakehead. Join them on Wed. Apr. 27 at St. Agnes church (corner of Brown & Mary St.) for their annual spring concert to mark this special milestone. Former members and audience members are especially invited to attend.
Tickets are $15 in advance ($18 at the door) and are available at Rollason Flowers, Music World Academy, the Finnish Bookstore/Kitchen Nook, Circle of Friends Quilt Shop and from all Choral Group members.
Doors open at 7 pm and the concert starts at 7:30 pm.

Free Benefit Concert in Suppor to Syrian Refugees

St. Agnes Church 1019 Brown St, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada

On Friday, December 18th, at 7PM at St. Agnes Church, the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra will be holding a Free Benefit Concert in support of Syrian Refugees who will be resettling in Thunder Bay, in partnership with the Thunder Bay Multicultural Association.
This Free Benefit Concert will include Baroque Christmas music, including selected movements from George Frideric Handel’s Messiah and Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, and a Carol Sing-Along.
The concert is free for all to attend, with donations accepted at the door. Proceeds from this concert will be split with the majority going to the Thunder Bay's Multicultural Association to help them prepare for refugees resettling in Thunder Bay, and a small portion going to the TBSO to cover the concert production costs.
