National Aboriginal Day 2018

We are planning National Aboriginal Day celebrations for June 21st, 2018 at Fort William First Nation on Anemki Wajiw also known as Mount McKay, Our theme this year is Honoring and Sharing Our History.
National Aboriginal Day is held to nurture respect and understanding among community members. The celebrations will include a Pow Wow, open air concert, community feast, artisans, and ceremony to honor Aboriginal contributions to shaping Canada as a country. An educational component, to be held on June 6 of 2018 at Lakehead University is included in partnership with local school boards to involve local artists, performers, and elders teaching students a variety of cultural activities (storytelling, arts, traditional teachings, and interactive craft and learning stations).
