On behalf of Tumblestone & Friends of Camden Blues:We would like to announce a fundraiser for our dear friend, scene veteran, award winning local blues man, cancer fighter and survivor; Camden Blues (Camden Tiura).Anyone who knows Camden is no stranger to the struggles he has faced throughout his life as cancer has constantly threatened him. He was diagnosed with cancer in his brain many years ago. It was surgically removed, and he underwent treatment. He successfully won that battle against cancer and was given a clean bill of health to continue on doing what he loves, making music.Unfortunately, as is often the case with cancer, it has reared its ugly head once again. He recently had surgery to remove the new growth forming. Things looked good, but further tests proved that the surgery was not completely successful. He has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Stage IV.This is a very aggressive, late-stage cancer. He will be undergoing treatment which will prevent him from being able to work and support himself during this difficult time.
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 and will take place across multiple venues in the Red River Downtown area. This event will be host to an eclectic variety of musicians befitting Camden’s eclectic tastes, with a focus on groups who Camden has had some connection to or impact on and will take place across multiple venues in the Downtown Red River area. To capitalized as much as we can on this night (to raise as much as we can for him)… We will also be holding an auction: which wouldn’t be possible without the artwork from many Caring/Generous local artists and gift packages from compassionate businesses.We’ve got to say we got an amazing array of artists who will be contributing . Including work from Christain Chapman, Christopher Merkley, Kyle Lees, Martin King, Melody Corvid, Ed Blanchette, Boy Roland, Fablewood Homestead, Brad Wiens, Brette Little, Luc Depruis, Steve Evo, Lise Watson, Leigh Nelson, Tracy Barry, Simon Murchie, Connor McMahon, Brittany McDonnell, Sew deer, and more to be adding as finalized. All proceeds from the event will be given directly to Camden Blues for use at his discretion.
