TRUE DIRECTIONS based on the film, But I’m a Cheerleader
August 24, 2011 @ 4:00 pm
$15True Directions is a stage play based on the 1999 film ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’; story by Jamie Babbit, who also directed it, written by Brian Wayne Peterson.
This satirical comedy follows Megan, a naive,17 year old cheerleader whose parents and friends stage an intervention when they believe that she is a lesbian. They send her to True Directions, a type of ‘rehab’ for homosexuals with a two month, five step program that teaches a group of teenagers how to be straight.
While there, Megan discovers a thing or two about life and about herself.
The story was written for the stage and is directed by local performer, Yolanda M. Bonnell and produced by Andrew Paulsen of NB Films Legacy. The show features 19 talented local actors, new and old to the stage.
Audiences are sure to be thoroughly entertained by this funny, touching story!
