The inaugural Summer Strings Music Festival is the culmination of a two week “Thunder Bay Summer Strings” children and youth music camp presented by the Thunder Bay Conservatory of Music. Three members of Canada’s award-winning Cecilia Quartet will be working with our young students for six days and will also be performing “Inspired by Folk” on the evening of Friday, August 10. In addition, the faculty of the music camp, comprised of members of the Cosbey family from our own TBSO and the Cecilia Quartet members, will be performing “String Celebration” on the evening of Wednesday, August 8. Our students will also be exhibiting their musical skills at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11. Corporate support for this or future community projects by the Thunder Bay Conservatory of Music would be appreciated.
Tickets are Adults: $25 Students: $10. Festival Pass : $40. Children under 12: FREE, Student Showcase is FREE for all ages. Available at Calico, Up Shot coffee houses or at the door. (cash only)
