SnowDay on the Waterfront

FreeThe City of Thunder Bay is inviting everyone to spend some time outside experiencing the best of winter at SnowDay on the Waterfront, set for Family Day – Monday, February 18, from 12pm – 5pm! This is a free celebration of all things winter and is presented by Ontario Power Generation.
SnowDay is centered around outstanding professional snow sculptures and features activities and entertainment for all ages. There are opportunities to participate in uncommon winter sports, learn snow carving, play interactive outdoor games and go skating.
Highlights of the SnowDay 2019 program include:

Snow carving with Willow Springs Creative Centre
Waterfront yarn bomb
Community Stage Performances by DJ Blackie Chan and Plan B!(the band)
Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra Trio performance in Mariner’s Hall
Ice slide, ice photo booth and cool canvases from Iceculture Inc.
Wagon rides with New Canaan Farm
Helicopter Tours with NorthWest Heli-Tours and Adventures(participants pay for this activity, and it is weather dependent)
Tapping Trains & Outdoor Weaving Project with the Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP)
Sugar Shack by Club culturel francophone de Thunder Bay(maple sugar lollipop will be sold for $2.00)
Dogsledding with Boreal Journeys Sled Dog Kennel (rides are forchildren aged 14 and under only)
Interactive outdoor spinning featuring hula-hooping, poi spinning,juggling, and twirling ribbons with Compelling Characters

Warming activities will take place inside the Baggage Building Arts Centre and Mariner’s Hall. Spectator opportunities throughout the event including: music performances, buskers and demonstrations by community groups.
