The Paper Beat Scissors live show is an intense and intimate experience – solo finger-picked laments are paired with live loops and a haunting voice that slips into the music, then darts back out to pull the listener in. Paper Beat Scissors is heading out on a coast-to-coast Canadian tour in August and September 2011.
Relocated Brit Tim Crabtree began Paper Beat Scissors in 2008 following a move to Halifax, Nova Scotia. The last three years have seen national Canadian and European tours, national radio play on CBC and BBC and an opening slot for Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon). Videos have been made for the project by Chris Tootell (Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride) and Mitch Fillion (Southern Souls, la Blogotheque). Polaris Prize Nominated musician Mike Feuerstack (Snailhouse, Bell Orchestre) produced the debut Paper Beat Scissors full-length to be released in spring 2012. The album was mixed by Arcade Fire’s Jeremy Gara.
