Mayhemingways are coming to town,
Musical maniacs, from Peterborough
At the Finlandia Hall they will play,
On June 23, which is a Thursday, in Thunder Bay…
The guys just packed up from a gig in Newfoundland
Some great stories they will have ‘bout places they’ve seen
And their original songs they have so cleverly written
Are very good; worth triple admission.
And News of the Day, there is still a little bit of time
For you and your kids to submit your rhymes
We are looking for your original songs
And poems that can be said out loud
Your verses and words don’t have to rhyme
But they must, above all, arrive on time
Our deadline for new material
Is June the 10th; that is crucial
We need your poems and songs real fast
The show is coming, and so is the band
This concert is a warm-up for the annual Finfest!
Write something new, and submit it by hand.
And let me say this nonchalant,
We also need an audience
Tickets are available now you know

Tell your friends and family members
Dust off the seat for extra passengers
