As part of the Empowering Elders to Empower Youth program, on May 18th, Blue Sky will be hosting a musical drum class and celebration with Sean Jesseau of Music Workshop. This program is supported by New Horizons for Seniors Program.
Sean will share how to play hand drums like the Djembe, Conga and Cajon. Learn the history of these drums and how to play confident sounds with fun and exciting arrangements! This event is for all ages from 13 and up including complete beginners.
Drums can be supplied for all participants. Hand jewelry needs to be removed unless you provide your own drum.
Sean is the School Director at Music Workshop. He has taught and performed on hand drums for over 20 years and has studied with master teachers from Ghana, Guinea, Cuba, Egypt and Palestine.
