BIINDIGAATE FILM FESTIVAL-CONTEMPORARY ABORIGINAL REGIONAL ART EXHIBITION-GALLERY 1, 2, 3; GALA OPENING RECEPTION THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 27 @ 9PM AND A FEROCITY OF ART/MUSICAL PERFORMANCES WITH CLASSIC ROOTS AND ROBIN RANGER-REFRESHMENTS-SHOWS RUN SEPTEMBER 27-OCTOBER 13-THIS IS ALSO THE GRAND RE-OPENING OF DEFINITELY SUPERIOR ART GALLERY SINCE THE FLOODING IN JULY 2012-LET THE ART FLOW!!! ALL ARE WELCOME
In association with the Biindigaate Film Festival, experience visual art by contemporary regional Aboriginal artists, selected film/videos and live musical performances by Classic Roots and Robin Ranger. Fabulous refreshments await! The gallery is open during the festival everyday 12-6pm. Exhibition runs until Saturday October 13-Gallery 1,2 Featured Artists:
Christian Chapman, Candace Twance, Christy Cameron, Mike Anderson, Patricia Ningewance, Randy Thomas, Erick and Lisa Hanson. Screening of Shapeshifters in Gallery 3 features a series of nine video profiles featuring Aboriginal artists in Ontario featuring: Jean Marshall, Bear Witness, Michelle Derosier, Christian Chapman, Michael Belmore, Dan Commanda & Brenda Lee, Sid Bobb & Penny Couchie, Cheryl L’Hirondelle and Waawaate Fobister . Shapeshifters was co-produced by Thunderstone Pictures and the Ontario Arts Council.
