TBAAbout Autopilot
Autopilot is a three-piece indie rock band from Saskatoon, SK. They just finished their latest album this summer. The ten song CD is entitled “Now It’s Time You Know What We’re Losing For.†The band spent the majority of April in Regina, SK recording, followed by a Canadian tour this past summer. The record is produced and recorded by Rob Morrison of National Frost and Joel Passmore of Sylvie. In the short time that it has been released the new album has charted on college radio across the country including CIUT Toronto where “Now It’s Time You Know What We’re Losing For†debuted at 3 the last week in August. The band formed in 2002. They recorded and released their first EP “When You Were” in 2003 followed by the first western Canadian tour. Since then they have been consistently touring Canada. They have toured as far west as Victoria, BC and as far east as Charlottetown, PEI. In January 2005 Autopilot recorded their second EP “The All Divided” followed by the independent release in April. Since then they have been on the road and enjoying a good response from college/community and CBC radio as well as promoters and their growing fan base. Autopilot is completely independent and does everything from booking their own tours to organizing their own CD and press releases and they have sold over a thousand copies of the “The All Divided”. Autopilot’s sound consists of guitar effects, including a violin bow on the guitar; danceable drum beats and catchy bass lines. Although not exclusively a political band, Autopilot express their opinion on issues such as global warming and the current state of the middle east in some of their songs. Autopilot’s plans for the future are to continue writing original music, touring internationally and recording a fourth album early 2008.
