A Thunder Bay family is making a plea to local residents to attend a social benefit in support of their ailing 2yr old daughter, Mya Doyle, who was recently diagnosed with a disease called Neurofibromatosis. The benefit will be held Saturday February 21st, 2009 at 8:00pm at the Coliseum Building on the CLE grounds.
Mya’s family & friends are hosting the benefit in the hopes of raising the badly needed funds to cover the cost of treatment for their toddler. Because these procedures cannot be done in Thunder Bay, Mya, along with her parents, continually travel to Toronto, ON, for surgery where doctors insert shunts onto her spine where tumours continue to grow.
Neurofibromatosis; it is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes benign tumors to form on nerves anywhere and at any time in the body.
