St. Patrick’s Day!
March 15, 2008 @ 3:00 pm
$5Saturday March 15 2008 – $5 at the door – Dress in green or white – 19+ ID REQUIRED!
Make sure you get down to Kilroy’s Saturday March 15 for the ULTIMATE St. Patty’s Day drinking party!
As part of the LU RADIO 2008 Fund Drive all proceeds will go to the station to help fund activities and ensure the station’s success as part of the Thunder Bay radio community.
Top LU Radio DJs will be spinning rock, metal, indie, punk, and everything in between for most of the night. For the last half of the night – Duck N Cover DJs will get you dancing to mashed-up rock, pop & hiphop remixes of the songs you love – as you’ve never heard them before.
THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE YOU’LL WANT TO BE WHEN ST. PATTY’S DAY STRIKES!!
LU Radio is a not for profit, campus and community station. What this means primarily is that we cannot earn very much from advertising sales and must rely on funding from the students of Lakehead University and donations from members of the community that we serve. This year, CILU is hosting a number of events around town to encourage community members to come out and get involved with the station. At all of the events, we will have our Friends of CILU card and LU Radio t-shirts for sale as well as having them available at the station itself during business hours. If you wish to donate to the station, feel free to contact us at 807-343-8881, email us at ciludonations@gmail.com , click on our ‘donate’ button on the website to donate via paypal or come visit us at one of our events or at 707 Oliver Rd. during business hours Monday to Friday.
Why do we need donations?
Our funding from the students at the university just covers our base operating costs. Funding from the Thunder Bay Community will help to ensure that we not only cover our base operating costs but will allow us some room to ensure that the station continues. Funding from the community will help us to:
Repair and maintain the station house, i.e. repair the roof of the station, remove the mould from the basement.
Clean and maintain the equipment in the booth to ensure it continues to function properly and reliably.
Maintain our transmitter to ensure continued signal and to possibly expand and clarify the signal to make it easier to tune in from around the city and outlying area.
Continue bringing new music and local programming that Thunder Bay does not get with the commercial and national stations in the area.
