MONTREAL POP OFF TOUR-MIRACLE FORTESS W/ADAM WAITO+MONTAG

$5POP OFF!- POP Montreal one of the largest international indie music+art festivals in Canada is touring two rising Montreal acts ::: Montag (Carpark records) and Miracle Fortress (Secret City). Miracle Fortress features Thunder Bay expat Adam Waito (also of Telefauna) Adam Waito as many will recall with great glee played in former bands, Toy Robots, The Pants and many other side projects in Thunder Bay. Adam returns home in Miracle Fortress which has been turning heads with critical rave reviews as well being heralded as the next big band out of Montreal for the last year with their psychedelic, alt space pop rock songwriting and experimental indie flair. Both bands are releasing full-length records and the tour will serve to promote these releases. Montreal/Vancouver’s Montag, has composed a beautiful album full of sweet and fuzzy blissful electronic pop gems. Joining this entourage will be none other than Montreal bad boy poster artists Jack Dylan and another returning Tbay artist Tyler Rauman who will be displaying their collection of posters in the gallery that show the wild side of the Montreal underground. Rounding out this evening are local faves Makeshift Astronaut and IGBC. POP-OFF will satisfy your eclectic pop-rock cravings for “sugar and space,†soft and sexy vibes mixed with energizing electronica and psychedelica! As an aside Miracle Fortress produced their new CD in an art gallery, what better place to perform it, so overwhelm your senses and take in some ferociously diverse art at Definitely Superior Art Gallery and spacey video projections-this is a licensed event-AA are welcome-ID required refreshments, multicoloured drinks and jello, mmm…rayguns and space wear may be advisable or just wear some aluminum foil hats (ie:optional spacey dress-up theme) this is going to be a summer encounter of the Pop Off kind! 250 Park Ave, Former Eatons Bldg.
