Matthew Jones, aka Matt Sour is quickly becoming a household name in the Canadian dance music scene. His versatile and energetic sets have given him the opportunity to play in some of the most reputable venues across the country including a residency in Canada’s legendary Guvernment complex. Playing alongside the likes of deadmau5, DVBBS, Oliver Heldens, Martin Garrix, ZEDD, Adventure Club, Porter Robinson, and 12th Planet; as well as partaking in some of Canada’s largest music festivals including the past 2 years at VELD; its been an exciting couple of years.
Matt started to develop his sound at the young age of eight in London, England when he started to study the cello. After almost 20 years of studying with some of the world’s top cellists and musicians, he decided it was time for a change. Inspired from his classical background his productions feature rich melodies, heavy basslines, and often live sampled classical instruments. With support from some of the biggest names in the industry including Benny Benassi, Steve Aoki, the Crystal Method, Dada Life, Donald Glaude and more; its no surprise that Matt Sour has had numerous Top 100 tracks in both the electro and breaks charts on Beatport.
With some heavy originals already released, and his debut album that was released in the summer of 2015; followed with another performance at this years VELD Music Festival, the year is looking to get quite Sour!
