Ranking 3rd at the 2015 Women of the World Poetry Slam, 3rd at the 2014 Individual World Poetry Slam, and 3rd at the 2015 National Poetry Slam, Desireé is an award-winning writer, performer, and educator; with deep roots in a background of poor, working class women, Desireé’s work explores the intersections of gender, class, and race and challenge audiences to step into a world ignored.
