Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre presents the classic children’s tale of Cinderella but with a thoroughly modern twist.
When Cinderella and her wicked step family receive a Facebook invitation to attend a party at the Charming Mansion, they cannot wait to show off their newest and most fashionable clothing. Cinderella does not think she has anything to wear. Neither do her evil stepsisters, who scoff at the very idea of Cinderella attending the Prince’s party. However, with a little encouragement from her Fashion God Mother, and the assistance of her little animal friends, she just might make it to the party of the year and back home before midnight.
With a colourful cast of characters including the King with his traditional views, his son the Prince with his more modern views, their assistants, a DJ, Greta the stepmother and more, this show is fun for the whole family.
Cinderella in this production is resourceful, self-reliant, talented and ready to take on the world.
Selfies, tweets, Vlogs, and a glamorous fashion show are sure to give this old favourite a musical makeover for today’s trendy and tech-savvy audience.
