Live From the Rock Folk Festival

August 6, 2022 @ 10:00 am

$30 – $90

The Live from the Rock Folk Festival is an annual music and arts festival located on the beautiful shore of Lake Superior in Red Rock, Ontario. Since the Live from the Rock Blues & Folk Society held the first festival in August of 2003, Live from the Rock has become an annual tradition for over 2,000 music lovers on the north shore of Superior. This grassroots festival is run almost 100 per cent by volunteers and without the support of over 200 dedicated volunteers and the Township of Red Rock, the Live from the Rock Folk Festival could not exist.
The festival offers world class music on four daytime workshop-style stages, as well as an evening festival concert stage. Daytime Workshops are a magical experience! Multiple musicians/bands grace the stage at the same time and each take turns playing songs according to the workshop theme. The musicians often join in on each others songs, which makes music that is unique and original and often never heard again. They feed off each other’s stories and songs and you as an audience member often get the chance to sing along or sit back and watch the magic unfold. Most musicians/bands get a chance to play several of their own songs during each workshop. The first notes can be heard floating across the lake starting at noon on Friday morning and they don’t stop until the Festival Stage closes the weekend on Sunday evening.
