Spitfire SK jazz singer Belle Plaine plays Thunder Bay for the first time! She’ll be gracing the stage at The Apollo on June 5th,
Belle Plaine’s sweetly powerful vocals and sharp songwriting earned her debut album Notes From A Waitress the #3 position on the !earshot National Jazz Chart and #1 on Edmonton, Ottawa and Lethbridge Jazz charts in early 2012.
She has also attracted the favourable attention of CBC Radio 3 host Grant Lawrence, a spot at the Regina Folk & Ness Creek Festivals and earned the titles of Best Singer (2010 & 2011) and Best Solo Act (2011) by Regina’s Prairie Dog magazine. She released her first EP Hello from Belle Plaine in May 2011 and continues to tour and receive regular airplay on CBC and community radio.
