Stocking the Youth Cupboard 2011 (3rd Annual)
December 8, 2011 @ 2:00 pm
Non-Perishable Food / ToiletriesWhat is the Youth Cupboard?
-The Independence Cupboard, housed at the CAS office, consists of primarily nonperishable food products for youth who are living independently, between the ages of 16 and 21. Although CAS has a small budget to maintain the cupboard, most of the items are provided through donations, including nonperishable food products, hygiene products, cleaning products, and some small kitchen items (cutlery, glassware, pots, toasters, etc.) The Cupboard is used by Crown Wards living on their own (16-17 yr), youth on Extended Care and Maintenance Agreements (18-21 yr) and youth involved with our Outreach Program (youth living on the streets).
-Accessing the Cupboard:
-Roughly 10-20 youth access it monthly
-Most of the youth access it later in the month and often when they go into to collect their monthly cheques and need incidentals/staples.
