Megan Lane was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She began writing and performing at the early age of 12 and hasn't looked back, she's has been playing in venues and festivals all over Canada ever since. Her blues, jazz and soul sound combines her own unique style with the influences of Jimi Hendrix, Fiona Apple, Jonny Lang and Jeff Buckley. In 2004 she released her self produced, debut CD “Purple and Blue”. This CD was nominated by “The Western Canadian Music Awards” for “Outstanding Blues Recording” and showcases Megan’s incredible diversity and emotion for music with passionate guitar playing, steamy vocals, and moving lyrics. Her new album, "Wrapped in Plastic" is an introspective blend of songs that also characterize Megan’s stellar songwriting skills paralleled only by her gut wrenching guitar style. This blues influenced rock and pop album was officially released in Regina on August 25th. “Anyone who has seen Megan live or has listened to her CD can testify that she is not only a talented songwriter, but also a very poetic and philosophical person.” (Alyssa Ingold, The Session)
“To say Lane looks comfortable on stage is an understatement. The 16-year-old performs with confidence musicians twice her age would kill for.” (Nichole Huck, The Carillon) GO TO WWW.MEGANLANE.COM FOR FULL BIO!
